Where's Mommy?

Isaac likes to set up his toys in various arrangments, somtimes adding words (as above), to make little stories using photographs. This is just one of many examples. Lower on this page, you will see a picture of our mouse "Rabies" in a paper pirate ship that Isaac made. The pirate picture was one of several frames in a story where the mouse, Rabies, fought off a large brown "sea dragon" who was really our brown kitten. Of course all the shots were posed and shot by Isaac. No mice or cats were harmed in the process of making the movie! Isaac loves the cats WAY TOO much to risk harming them.

Velvet Dragon

Isaac Worked on this velvet dragon on-and-off for the past year. He finally finished it a couple weeks ago, and photographed it one day while photographing our cats and various toys. The dragon is approximately 16x20 inches.

Rabies and Friends

"Rabies" is the name of our finger-puppet mouse, who we adopted (bought) last year at the gift shop at the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Rabies has become a favorite mouse, and therefore gets a lot of attention and stuff. Above, you can see the PIRATE SHIP that Isaac made for Rabies. Isaac took this photo himself.
Liking Rabies as much as he does, on our next trip to the Smokies, we decided to get another mouse, and named him Scabies. From there, the pattern has continued. The most recent mouse is called Spraybies.
As a parallel story, Isaac enjoys tracing dollar bills and also making up his own. He has designed a whole series of MOUSE-MONEY including a ten dollar bill that features Spraybies.
Here is a picture of Spraybies, a mouse who has become famous enough to have his picture on the MOUSE ten dollar bill. But even better than the front, is the back:
Here in the US, just as human money features buildings and memorials on the back of the bill, MOUSE money does too. Here is the "house" (or hole) where Spraybies lives!!!
Here is the the famous 100 dollar bill. Of course none other than Rabies himself is on that one. And check out the back of his bill! His house is REALLY nice!!
Here is the house where Rabies lives. This is living at its best!

Roman Soldier

Isaac made this Roman Soldier at school. The guy is carrying a SPEAR. The silver armor is made of aluminum foil.

Imperial Walker

We got an imperial walker a while back, and Isaac traced the picture on the box. The original drawing fills a standard 8.5x11 sheet of paper.

How to Make a Snowman

This is another one of Isaac's third grade projects.

MONEY TREE!

As a 3rd grade school assignment, Isaac was asked to make a MONEY TREE. He started by drawing the trunk. I loved the shape of the branches so much that I had to scan the drawing before he covered it up with "dollar" bills.
He colored the grass and the image looked even better.
He added sky to make it even better.
Finally, it was time to add the "leaves" (or money). Rather than using the little copied one-dollar bills that his teacher gave him, Isaac TRACED both sides of a real $100 bill. I scanned the image, arranged a page with many smaller-than-life-size copies, and printed them on green paper. He pasted them to the branches like leaves. Here is the front of the $100 bill that he traced. He spent quite a while trying to get every detail right.
And here is the back!
